When i was in college i used to be close to one guy whom i considered as best friend. Later i realized they are too practical and i regretted for focussing my affection on one person.

Friendship is not about going to movies and hanging out. Learn to observe people for what they are , they behaviours etc. Learn to see if they person on whom you have affection has good qualities. Infact a good prayer will be to say saibaba " Saibaba, bless me only with good friends, neighbours .. Let me be surrounded by good souls" .
